Have you ever quietly whispered to yourself, “I want to quit”?  Or shouted out loud, “I want to quit!”  Not caring who hears you?

I’ve done both numerous times.  Some days I feel so overwhelmed with work, I just want to throw in the towel and admit it’s all too hard. It would be easier to quit.

Other days I feel lost and despondent about relationships that seem to be going nowhere and truly believe it would be easier to quit.  Even during my recent hike on the Larapinta Trail there were times I felt so unfit. I was hot and tired, and the climb seemed impossible. I just wanted to quit.

But I haven’t given up on my business, my friends or my fitness and I completed the whole trail. So, what keeps me going in these situations?

Inspiration!

I dig deep within to foster an open heart and an open mind.  I imagine the best outcome and work towards that. I follow others who inspire me and read true stories of people who have overcome the odds.

Inspiration is difficult to measure. But we know when we don’t have it because life seems difficult.

Inspiration awakens us to new possibilities by allowing us to transcend our self-limiting beliefs. Inspiration propels us from apathy to action. But beware, inspiration without action is just hallucination.

Through my work, I’ve come to recognise some common traits that inspired people have. How many can you tick?

  1. optimistic
  2. open to new experiences
  3. collaborative not competitive
  4. desire to master what they do for their own personal development
  5. consistently build confidence in their abilities
  6. rarely self-sabotage

When I feel inspired, I am drawn forward. There’s an exciting internal drive to complete a task, heal a relationship, better myself and make a positive difference in the world.

If you’d like to find out how I do this, reply to this email or book in a private call with me
