What’s Love Got To Do With It?

What’s Love Got To Do With It?

As we celebrate Valentine’s Day, I found myself asking the question – “What’s love got to do with it?”  Not just on 14th February, but every day? And the answer hit me immediately…

…Everything!

Love has everything to do with our sense of self, our happiness and our success in all areas of life.

When we love what we do, people see it in the passion and energy we have for our project and dreams.

When we love those around us, they feel it through the attention we give to them both at home and work.

When we love ourselves, our emotional cup is full and we take responsibility for all areas of our life without burdening others.

That’s what love’s got to do with it!

If you want to be more attractive and successful, there’s a simple solution and that’s just to love what you do and feel more passionate about it. When you’re passionate, it comes across in everything you do.

Passionate people have an intensity in their eyes that lights them up and inspires those around them. Without any kind of passion, you will find yourself ‘drifting’ through life.

When you speak about something you’re passionate about, people are automatically drawn to you, they become engaged and interested in what you’re saying.

What’s more, passionate people tend to gesticulate more. In other words, they wave their hands around more, they point at things, move around and take up more space when communicating. Studies show that gesticulation greatly correlates with what we think of as ‘charisma’ and so someone who is charismatic is someone who is passionate and has strong beliefs.

On top of all this, being passionate means having more interests that you care deeply about. In turn, this makes you more interesting and gives you more to talk about. These qualities are magnetic.

In other words, when you have a passion that you care deeply about, you become a more interesting, charismatic and charming person and this makes you more attractive as well. If you can then get others swept up in your passion, you’ll find that it’s a great way to meet people, to make a big impression, to build your business or career and to potentially find romance 

You might be saying Anne, I’ve lost my passion for work and life and don’t know how to rekindle it.

Don’t lose faith, this happens to us all at different times in our life. Here are my 3 top tips to reigniting the spark in your life, relationships and career.

Being passionate is a choice. So first, make the decision that you will put more fun and love into everything you do and it will soon become second nature.

Be Who You Really Are – With No Apologies.  The most important thing you need to do to be truly passionate, is to be who you really are and to not apologise for it. That means that you should follow what interests you no matter how weird or strange. When you do what you love, you give it 100% and when you give it 100% then you do it better. Don’t do the thing that’s expected of you – do the thing that you really want to do like Billy Elliot!

Speak Your Mind.  Say what you mean and mean what you say without being mean. And stop worrying about what other people think. Passionate people follow their heart and beliefs regardless of what others think. Most of us are afraid to speak our minds in case we offend people and end up walking around with our heads down. You’ll still offend people – because it’s impossible not to – so you might as well be you and have a good time while you’re doing it.

Get Back Your Energy.  To be passionate, you need to indulge yourself in the things you love. And to do that you can’t be brow beaten and exhausted all the time. If life and work always seem to be on top of you, then it’s time to make a change. Are you eating healthy food, drinking plenty of water, getting enough sunshine and exercise? If not, then that’s sign enough that something needs to change!
